Although the physical Oak Cliff location will shut down, Go Easy will maintain an online storefront. Mathias has relocated to New York, where she is pursuing a license to sell cannabis, and plans to bring several employees with her.
She expressed mixed feelings about leaving Texas, noting her personal connection to the state and desire to continue contributing to its economy. “We grew up in Texas. We care about Texas. We want to pay taxes in Texas,” Mathias remarked. “It just feels like you’re back in time a little bit, you know? They want you to leave the state.”
